it’s a us thing to ‘brand’ stuff, so tissues are Kleenexes, and photostatic copies were Xeroxes, and cellotape is ‘Scotch’ tape. In the UK I’ve heard of Q Tips as ear buds. But the reference that djvalid is espousing is also perfectly fine.
