the moon crab also known as the halloween crab or red land crab is a brightly orange-and-purple colored crab species native to mexico and south america. they form burrows along coastal rainforests, then return to the ocean to breed. they are mainly herbivorous, and sometimes hard to spot as they are nocturnal. these crabs are fairly common in the pet trade as they aren’t difficult to keep in comparison to most ‘exotic’ pets.
