Cave Pearls in Carlsbad Cavern, New Mexico.
Cave pearls form around a nucleus of matter that can be a grain of sand, a piece of wood, etc. It happens when the water is moving too vigorously to form a stalagmite. The motion of the water buffs the pearls to a high gloss.
Carlsbad Cavern has so many cave pearls that they were at one time handed out to visitors as souvenirs.
