Here’s a cute country house in Vermont. It’s only $149,000 and has a pending offer, but they’re taking backup offers, too. See the extension on the left? That’s the interesting part, b/c it’s waiting to be renovated. What would your ideas be?

First, let’s tour the house. I didn’t expect an entrance hall. Nice!

It has a fully modernized country kitchen.

Plus, a cool reproduction antique stove. I like that. 

Beautiful dining area. This is very tastefully done.

There are 4 bedrooms up here. 

Looky, here, it has a witch window! These are only in Vermont- windows were installed askew, b/c it was believed that witches couldn’t fly in.

This unfinished little room is an office or craft space.

It looks like the plumbing, etc., was redone in the basement.

Downstairs, a spare room off the living room, leads to the extension. So, what’s in there? 

It’s the former county jail, untouched since it closed in 1969! This was the jailer’s house.

I find it interesting that they updated the house and left this to rot.

At least keep it clean.

Looks like they started to insulate and fix up the office. This is too cool to pass for that price.
