Tibetan Carved Skull

a skull carved with skeletons into it

A 300-year-old carved skull from Tibet. According to a Tibetan Khenpo, skulls like this were often carved to take a curse off a family or to guide the mislead soul onto the right path. The depiction on the forehead is the deity Citipati, a vajrayana Buddhist deity having the form of two dancing skeletons. Citipati is associated with cemereries.
