the void is a house in frederick maryland that’s currently housing 5 people, 5 rats, and 1 cat. we are all either girls or nonbinary people, and most of us have disabilities and mental illnesses that have hindered us from finding or sustaining work.
because of this, we have found ourselves up to $700 short for january rent. we have about a week to get this money. our lease ends feb 1st so this is the last time we will have to ask the internet to keep our house alive and keep us from getting evicted again. at this point we seriously cannot afford to be unhoused. (i wouldnt be begging if i wasnt desperate lol). everyone is trying their best to find money with limited resources (most of us already have debt) and we seriously need yr help this month.

X-Ray and Anatomical Stained Glass Windows by Artist Wim Delvoye
In his ongoing series of Gothic works, initiated in 1999, Belgian artist Wim Delvoye, about whose tattooed pigs I have blogged about in the past, created some very unusual stained-glass windows and sculptural works made of steel, lead, glass and actual x-ray.
For his “Chapel” series, Delvoye took x-rays of two friends performing sexual acts, then combined the x-rays with stained glass to fill the windows of a gothic-style chapel. Some of the windows simply look as though they are made of an abstract design, when upon closer inspection, one can see teeth, intestines, skulls and other anatomical features.

Moonrat (Echinosorex gymnura)
Also known as the Greater Moonrat, the moonrat is not a rat or from the moon, but is a species of insectivorous mammal related to hedgehogs endemic to parts of Indonesia. Like its hedgehog relatives the moon rat is primarily nocturnal and omnivorous and feeds mostly on worms, insects, fruit and fish. However unlike hedgehogs moonrats are partially aquatic and will often enter and hunt in water.

I went to the zoo today and I saw: baby elephant! Baby zebra! Baby dolphin! Baby mountain goat! Baby sitatunga (pictured)! Baby hippo! Baby giraffe! Baby reindeer! Baby orangutan!
Also I learned what sounds lemurs and rhinos make! They’re both adorable!
Also I saw ostriches running w their wings fluffed up like in the lion king! And a pair of red pandas chasing a deer around! And bears fighting! And binturongs (horrible demon land otters) mating! And two barn owls fighting over a dead chick and ripping it apart and one of them got an organ stuck on it’s nose and couldn’t get it off which was cute yet horrifying
And I got to pet some goats! That was a lil awk because I was a loan adult in a pen full of children and parents (and goats)
