Todayโ€™s moth is a muslin moth with fluffy trousers. May our weekends be blessed with things as warm and soft as moth floof.

This species is one of the first I see every year. Bc of where we live, I can only put the light trap out once winter storms have passed, so for me moth season usually starts in March. Muslin moths, treble lines, & oak beauties are what I see first. Hereโ€™s a ref illustration I made for this species.

a diagram of a male and female muslin moth (Diaphora mendica) showing the sexual dimorphism of the species. the male is dark grey and the female is larger and white. the males antennas also look more comb-like.ALT
