Know your double, a doppelgänger field guide -
John Martz
I don’t think I’ve posted this yet - my piece for the Rookery anthology with some other just graduated SVA classmates. The theme of the book was myths and urban legends. I spent my childhood summers on an island in Nova Scotia, and I was always fascinated with seals, and, because of that, selkies.
Disclaimer: I have not made out with a seal. Yet.

Well, here is this comic that I did! The first four pages were my final illustration project of junior year, and the rest were completed in the month since I have been out. This is the longest comic I have ever done so far, so that is pretty cool?
I am not satisfied with those colors and eventually I will come up with some kind of cohesive finish for the whole thing. But here it is like this, for now. I hope you like it!
Also, if you have any questions about the characters or story, I will be embarrassingly eager to answer, since I have a lot more info about them in my brain than fifteen action-packed pages permit.

Read from right to left :)
This is a little manga I wrote to show how a girl’s efforts to make someone hurting smile ends up revealing a similar compassion from the very boy she was trying to comfort. It shows how a little kindness can sometimes seem pointless but it can be contagious and turn around to help the person giving it more than the one receiving it.
SDOHUFodshuf omg this is so so so so so cute I love iiiiit ahhh

I am finally done! My 6 page comic I’ve been working on. I must say the flow in the comic could have been done better, and I would have liked to make it a bit longer if I could but I’m still happy I finished it.
