1920s compact purses - girls would carry their powder, rouge and/or lipstick sometimes in purse designed to specially hold only them. they were also called “dance compacts” so they could hang on your wrist while you were dancing in case you needed to tell your date “sorry i have to go powder my nose” i guess……….wish i could get something like this today bc they are so cute i’d carry mine with me everywhere
