Aak grasshopper, Poekilocerus pictus, Pyrgomorphidae
Found in South Asia, the Aak grasshopper is especially known for its nymph, which squirts a jet of defensive fluid several inches when grasped by a predator. The liquid is foul-tasting and contains cardiac glucosides, which can be toxic in the right amounts. Photos 8 and 9 show nymphs.
