Too many people think of privilege as something one has over, when it is not an over.

It something one is permitted socially to do that another person of a different status is not.

This guy posted on my university’s confession page about how he thinks the concept of privilege is bullshit bc he’s a white cishet dude and he was kidnapped as a kid and saw his brother get shot and he has horrible PTSD and it’s like… You are completely missing the point but I can’t really say that to a stranger who just opened up about his horrific childhood trauma
