“My dream is to be a singer-songwriter. I want people to understand mental illnesses a lot more, and I really hope to contribute to that understanding with my music.”
“Were you inspired by personal experience?”
“Yes. I used to have depression and anorexia, and music was my escape. It helped to heal me, and I want to be able to help other people who struggle with similar problems. I think music has healing power. I also like how you can bring your own story to any music. You can hear a song, and it can mean something completely different to you than it does to the person sitting next to you. I find that really beautiful.”
