The way susanna is so horrifically (racistly) abused and neglected by the narrative and by king himself… and yet she’s the only one who gets a happy ending…. Its so lame and too little too late and yet…. I crey every time
i had to go to the bathroom at work to cry when i got to that part of the audiobook. she deserves iti PRAY the series treats her better. the way king never seems to consider that she might actually care about civil rights movement despitebeing apparently a noted figure. like how we never observe her caring about or missing ANYONE from her life in america… in contrast w eddieand jake. you have to do a lot of work in your imagination to bring susanna to life. for instance i think a lot about the emotionalexhaustion and burnout she must have experienced as a disabled black woman in the 60s. working and protesting and getting arrested and stillnot feeling safe and accepted in most places. like i imagine her time in midworld is sort of a vacation for her even though her life is muchmore in danger than it ever was. bc she is with her ka-tet and they instantly love and accept her and never resent her mobility issues ormake an issue of her race or gender AND she finds out she’s extremely good at guns and violence and she has REAL POWERanyways you have to be kinda delusional and like download a lot of mental mods to make the dark tower series really goodmental gymnastics. backflip over a lot of the detta stuff.stevie k LOVES having smart black characters talk in like… fake slave patois he does it in mr mercedes too. he sucksbut the version of susanna who lives in my heart rules. and eddie dean is a he/him lesbian
