There aren’t people in real life that have unusually good powers of observation and deduction. Who are just naturally good at solving mysteries. These guys are 100% fictional. they’re basically superheroes and I personally am devastated by this realization

#i don’t know why i just realized this age 28 halfway thru the snowman by jo nesbo#bc they’re describing this dead cop like. yeah he stole from crime scenes and maybe beat up suspects but he had great detective skills that#made him valuable to the force. like his intuition or whatever was so good.#and i was just like oh that’s not real. that’s not a real thing#and the cops that think that about themselves are probably the worst ones bc they’re overconfident in identifying guilty people and would#probably excuse themselves for unethical shit bc they think they’re special
