I am CONVINCED i can smell carbon dioxide. no one believes me because it's an "odourless gas" but then what am i smelling. it smells different from my sweat or any odors. it's a sweet, kind of cloying smell that makes my head hurt, and i always get it when i shut the windows in my room for too long or sit in a locked car. it doesn't come from anything else i've checked so now i have this power and it's not weird enough to be important but i need to tell everyone

Could still be psychosomatic based on how you’ve described it. You should sit in a room blindfolded and have someone either release some dry ice into the room or just do nothing.
If you do this a few times and you can tell the difference between the dry ice and the nothing, then that will be good evidence that you actually can smell it. patchworkcow liked this
tailless-whale said: I can smell it too!! It’s more noticeable to me in slurpees, icees and dry ice. It got worse when I got covid, and then when I started taking Topamax and diamox which makes carbonation taste nasty. I’m no longer on either drug but I still smell carbon dioxide when I am near the large dry ice bins at work.
