the diederik cuckoo is a small bird found in south africa. both males and females have glossy green plumage, though females have more copper on their bodies. they are known for being brood parasites, meaning the female cuckoo lays her eggs in the nests of other, unrelated species of birds, for those mothers to raise her young.
