people who uwu-ify south park are the fandom version of a mad scientist pushing their experients further and further beyond what should be possible until it becomes monsterous and unkillable

south park fandom is everything people like about fandom taken too far and used for evil.

fandom involves a lot of projection, which can produce some really amazing, emotional content because it lets people pour their whole heart and soul into a character. south park fandom has people projecting onto characters with essentially nothing in common with them. in fact some of these characters are people who would actively disdain them

fandom tends to see the good in flawed pieces of media. this allows people to create really amazing narratives from a work that doesn’t necessarily pull off its themes and concepts. south park fandom tries so hard to make the show better than it actually is that it has turned it into something unrecognizable. fandom south park and canon south park have so little tying them together that the fanon version might as well just be a bunch of OCs.

fandoms love creating their own representation when none exists. this has given a lot of queer people a place to see themselves even when mainstream media ignores them. south park is a show that actively mocks queer people on many occasions. creating representation from south park is planting flowers in a desert. those aren’t supposed to grow there, why are you planting these where they obviously don’t belong?

south park fandom is the natural extreme of all the core fandom instincts. It is a warning for what happens when you’re too busy worrying about if you can that you never worry about if you should. It is a grim reminder to all of us that this silly little hobby we all love can turn us into freaks if we take it too far.
