okay so like, it also emotionally annoys me when newspapers have paywalls but its weird to me when people think this is like...bad of them? like. newspapers have always cost money. i think sometimes you just have a morally neutral adversarial relationship with an entity, such that youre not in the wrong when you pirate their shit and theyre not in the wrong when they try to stop you

truly like yes newspapers should be doing more to shift away from needing subscription fees to runbut also like. it costs money to do journalism and the subscriptions are not prohibitively expensive for most people so there’s no needto get upset. just steal it or don’t
