So after constantly battling with people about Macklemore because he’s a straight, white, cisgender man that is treated as the voice of LGBTQ rappers/people in general, rather than having, you know, actual queer people speak for themselves, my friend sent me this. 

It’s Angel Haze, a 22-year old pansexual rapper, freestyling over “Same Love.” Part coming out story, part political messaging, this freestyle is what I wish could actually have as much popular attention as “Same Love.” It’s rappers like Angel Haze that Macklemore silences when he claims hip-hop hates gay people, or when he tosses around the f-slur because he’s *~an ally~*, or when he gives an acceptance speech as Mary Lambert stands silently next him.
