Photos like this rock me to the core and make me call my brother just to hear his voice.
There’s nothing comedic or funny about dressing up as a teenager who was murdered.
It’s not a punch line.
It’s not trendy.
It’s not acceptable.
It’s deplorable.
It’s disgusting.
It’s hurtful.
It’s racist.
It’s not just “too soon”- there will never be a time when his name can be used as a joke.
This is more grave than “a bad costume decision” to dress in blackface as the Huffington post called it….
It’s the reason I pray for the black children in this world.
The death of an innocent black child became a punch line.
Why are people doing this ??????
