Giant jawed sawyer beetle aka sabertooth longhorn beetle, Macrodontia cervicornis, Cerambycidae
The giant jawed sawyer is a species of longhorn beetle native to South America and is one of the largest beetles in the world by length; some can reach more than 17cm. Males have considerably larger mandibles than females. Eggs are laid under the bark of dying trees, and once hatched, the larvae can live for more than 10 years before pupating. Adults live only a few months.
