Meet Nugget and Nugget’s first egg!

We’ve gotten cortunix quail.  They’re supposed to have a better feed-to-egg conversion rate than chickens.  Plus, they’re quiet and smaller so it’s much less likely for the neighbors to notice/care.  They sound more like wild birds.

I’m just so excited to have fresh eggs again!

  11. on-my-way-to-the-woods said: @purpletigerss, Pretty good. They’re very similar to chicken eggs, a little creamier (and supposedly healthier). It’s a little annoying to crack open 5 different eggs for every egg a recipe calls for, but still worth it.
