Sister of woman killed in DC: ‘It didn’t have to be’
NBC New York: The family of the woman who was shot to death outside the U.S. Capitol after trying to ram her car through a White House barrier said Friday night that she was a “carefree, loving, law-abiding citizen” and don’t know why she was killed.
Miriam Carey was still struggling with postpartum depression when she drove down to Washington, D.C. and sparked a chase that ended in the shooting.
"My sister did not deserve to have her life shortened at this early stage,” said Valerie Carey, a former sergeant with the New York Police Department. - NBCNewYork.com
