@dbrowan​ submitted: A nice moth out on my front door 🖤 I’m assuming it’s some type of green geometer?

What a lovely color! And yes, it’s an emerald geometer. Looks like a wavy-lined emerald, Synchlora aerata. Their caterpillars are super cool! They’re called camouflaged loopers because they attach bits of plant matter to their body as camouflage, so they can look different depending on which plants they used. Check it out:

@traumagician​ They grab a piece of plant, apply some silk from the spinnerets under their mouth, and then reach around and stick it onto their cute lil caterpillar bod :)
