my cursed fact about alligator gar is that once when I was a kid I was screwing around snorkeling in a small river in backwards Missouri when I noticed TWO of them in the water with me, one started approaching and I freaked out so bad that I accidentally went body surfing down some rapids because I lost my footing
the ones I saw were probably only about 4 ft but these suckers can get to more than 8 ft long
