Quite nice, aren’t they? This frog is the big-headed rain frog [Craugastor megacephalus], a species found primarily in Panama. These frogs hatch via direct development, emerging from their eggs as fully-formed froglets, as opposed to tadpoles. Their diet consists mainly of beetles and ants. Images by Joel Sartore.
