the long-tailed tit is a small passerine bird found in europe and asia. fondly nicknamed the ‘flying lollipop’ due to their round body and pointed tail, these birds are almost entirely insectivorous, and feed on grubs, worms, beetles, and more. around half of long-tailed tit pairs have a ‘helper’ or multiple when raising their young; it increases the chicks’ chances of survivability along with giving the helpers parenting experience.
