Well, I tried to save this film, but it just wasn’t possible. The water damage had made the wettest section of the film fuse pretty hard. Every time I’d come around to that section on the reel, it would hang, then tear. Eventually, I couldn’t open up the tear to continue unwinding the film. It also had some mold growth (and we know where that leads). I also really wanted the reel to install on “Reel Wall” but I’ll have to live without it.

So here are some more images of the horrible beauty of water damage on film. The swirls and spots and dustings of emulsion fascinate me and I can’t resist taking pictures, even though I’m sorry to have to dispose of the film.
