now one of my sister’s friends who is a cis straight white woman in her forties has started saying “femmes of all genders” instead of “women.” so that’s cool. that’s great that this woman who knows nothing of gay/bi and trans women’s experience now sees fit to suggest that i and other gender non-conforming women are not really women, or not really members of the gendered suspect class, and don’t need protection from misogyny, probably because it straight-up never even occurred to her that women who are not “feminine” even exist. that’s cool and great. thanks facebook
