I just sobbed for like 10 minutes after reading this. This means so so much to me. Just the fact that she said the word “bisexual” is amazing. I’m tired of celebrities coming out by saying things like “I can fall in love with both men and women” like bisexual is a dirty word. Like it’s something you need to dance delicately around. I’ve spent enough time feeling like there’s a part of me that’s dirty.
I actually grew up in the same area as Rebecca Sugar, and its ostensibly a very liberal area. But I didn’t even know what being gay was, that it was even a possibility, until I was 9 or 10. And when I watch Steven Universe I wonder if, if I had met Pearl or Ruby and Sapphire when I was a kid I wouldn’t have had to wait til I was 20 to stop denying this part of myself.
Thank you Rebecca Sugar!!!!!!!
