It’s entirely informed by a set of modern presumptions and projects these concepts onto humans from the evolutionary get-go right up to the industrial revolution. It starts with conclusions and interprets conditions to support them. It’s an inherently reactionary reverse-science, so no wonder it attracts the kind of people it does.
