Horses (and a mule) with interesting patterns. Mostly from Horses are Beautiful.
Ok I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna name each of them in order:
- Appaloosa Mare and Mule foal. Mare looks to be a varnish/snowflake mix or possibly a snowflake on a greying base. Mule is snowflake on chestnut.
- Bay or ‘Yellow’ Dun
- Grulla (Dun on black base) possibly Sabino by the four white feet and high face white. Both duns pictured show heavy ‘frosting’ on the mane and tail.
- Tobiano Bashkir Curly. base colour is either chestnut or Red Dun - that shadowing on the neck could be dun factor.
- Quality of the photo makes it hard. Could just be a medium-progression grey or a very pale buckskin.
- Silver Dapple (also known as chocolate palomino or taffy) Gypsy Vanner Mare with foal at foot. High chance of carrying minimally expressed tobiano or sabino, being Vanners.
- Bay Roan clipped to show the difference between a winter coat and summer coat. Roan is much less apparent on summer coat, but the peaked stockings give it away.
- Two leopard Appaloosas.
- Silver Dapple Tobiano on Gypsy vanner stallion. I actually know this stallion - despite being possibly just a dappled grey, he is in fact silver dapple like the mare from the sixth photo. This is his winter coat, where the dapples are more predominant. In the Summer he looks much darker and the silver dapple is more apparent. See more of him here.
Wow! Great knowledge of horse colors! I thought that #2 was a Norwegian Fjord? Maybe?
