like i like this show but rebecca sugar is making it pretty clear that she doesn’t want me in her audience >:?

are you talking about greg in pearl’s dream?? because i really didn’t sense a man in a dress gag from that; the gag seemed a lot more about pearl’s relationship with rose and greg, respectively. like, i think you would be pretty freaked out if you were having a dream where you were sailing around with the love of your life, only for them to turn around and actually be the person who took that love away from you. like, i’m sure there will be kids who look at it and just laugh about greg wearing rose quartz’s dress because social conditioning is tons of fun, but it seems to me that the joke was a lot deeper than that.

When you put it that way holy fuck it’s even worse than I imagined and I am pretty fucking disappointed in Rebecca Sugar especially after having such a good episode yesterday.

No but you see it /is/ a man in a dress gag, it is /a piece of media that create and reinforces that social conditioning/ kids aren’t socially conditioned by default it’s stuff like this that does that! It’s definitely a man in a dress gag. They easily could have had her turn into greg without having greg dressed up as rose in her outfit and hair. How about, when she turns around, it zooms out and it’s just greg standing there in his normal outfit? It’s so so easy to not be transmisogynist but they decided to be transmisogynist instead.
