Speaking of redeemability;
The thing here is that we really have to take into consideration outside forces that would affect each character’s judgement.
The thing with Peridot is, she’s obviously been fed propaganda her whole life. She hasn’t had any chance to actually meet humans. She has a single perspective on a very complex scenario, due to being (seemingly) stuck on homeworld (as she doesn’t have to travel to do her work) and as such she doesn’t have a complete grasp of the consequences of starting up the kindergarten again. She seems to be a young gem with the way that she acts, relatively speaking; she wasn’t around for any of the gem wars that we are aware of. This means it would be easier for homeworld to groom her into doing their dirtywork. Tldr; Peridot is redeemable because she is ignorant of consequences, and has a chance to learn.
Let’s take a look at Lapis, then. She tried to kill Steven and Connie, yes. She attacked the gems, yes. But we also know that she was trapped, completely alone, for thousands of years; and the gems are directly responsible for keeping her trapped, and not wanting to free her. Even though gems are aliens, that much time spent alone is clearly not good for somebody. She was frustrated, and lashing out. When she returned, people are blaming her for “selling out the homeworld gems”— but think about it. She looked scared. She was a prisoner in her own home. She didn’t want to do it, and she wanted to protect Steven. She even sent a message to try and warn them so they wouldn’t get hurt. She was abused mentally (and later physically, by Jasper) for thousands of years. In the end, she stopped Jasper from hurting Steven and the gems. Tldr; Lapis is redeemable because she was struggling with psychological pain and was forced into ratting out the homeworld gems.
But what about Jasper? It seems obvious to me, but let’s break it down— Jasper is a warrior who fought the crystal gems in the first war for Earth. She is aggressive, abusive, and coerced Lapis into fusing with her. You may think that she didn’t try to kill Steven, because she didn’t, directly, but think about this— she took Steven, who she thought was Rose, into custody to take to Yellow Diamond— essentially, a fate worse than death, as Yellow Diamond’s name sparked fear in even Peridot. Not to mention, the difference between Jasper and Peridot is that Jasper is aware of humans; and more than well aware of the consequences of restarting a kindergarten. Jasper is willing to, and has tried, to kill every single human on Earth. Tldr; Jasper is most likely unredeemable because they have had thousands of years to choose life over homeworld, and they would still squash anyone in their way.
Not to mention the way jasper acts towards Garnet & the other crystal gems too not just attacking them but the things she says!!! She is super mean and evil!!!!
