30 continuous twine games that all come together as part of one long overarching story only to get to a point where it says “okay, if you move forward on this plot, i’m going to ruin it. i’m telling you this right now. this ending fucking sucks and you’re going to hate it.” and gives you the option of seeing the ending or just deciding that this abrupt moment is the ending. the author isn’t lying: the ending is truly awful

124 notes #tbh I think it's not endings King struggles with but the events leading up to it#like song of Susannah was truly awful#p much any if his long ass horror novels has a point near the end where you desperately want to put the book down bc it's so terrible#but you've already invested so much energy you push urself all the way to the end
