we vote for unapologetically racist anti-islam parties. we defend racist traditions. we demand to be allowed to use the n word. we continue to paint black and brown people as stupid, threatening, savages in our media.

Europeans want to pretend racism doesn’t exist here, that we’re ahead of the whole world, too enlightened to be racist. We’re not. We don’t get to look down on Ferguson.
