I just realized that apparently I never shared this series here on Tumblr??
I call it Living Paintings, as they are recreations of extinct animals that some artists actually saw and painted from memory, a long time ago.
Patreon • Ko-fi • Facebook • Twitter • Prints & Merch
These are breathtaking and bring realism to the life of the originals.

hey y'all I have another favor to ask you. a trans employee at a Polk County, Missouri library was recently thrust into the public debate literally just for wearing a pronoun pin and being trans while doing a storytime for a couple of families. if you’ve got a minute please consider sending a quick message of support for the employee and for the library publicly standing by him

Random fact: Although jumping spiders can’t move their eyes, they can move their retinas to change their field of view. It’s as if they’re looking through a window.
If the spider is clear enough, you can even see the retinas moving through the cephalothorax:
Image sources: Melvyn Yeo, M.F. Land, and wmaddisn
note: only the largest pair of eyes can do this, the others have fixed fields of view
