Thinking about the time I was in a class and the lecturer was talking about how you can read the spiral motif in ‘Vertigo’ as being a metaphorical representation of male fear of the vagina, bc it’s this mysterious uncanny vortex that never ends and into which you could vanish entirely, and she stopped and said “Although my problem with that has always been - I mean, the vagina ends. It does end.” And we were all just nodding sagely like “It does end.”
