I make fun of computer engineers (mostly in my own head) for thinking that human bodies and minds are like computers with complex but well-known and hackable pathways of cause and effect. But now that I’m being forced to learn about computers I realize I’m strangely attached to the idea that computers are little animals with wet and mysterious insides
