Another perk of libraries is that when I check out an audiobook and predictably fail to listen to it, it gets returned and I can rest easy knowing that checking it out at all has already benefited my local library. I can even do it again later and it will only bring further good things, for free, forever
VS buying an audiobook, failing to listen to it, and having to stare at it in my audible collection knowing I spent $10 on something I never used. And then imagine doing that again. Hellish. Get a library card and download the libby app

Gold Ring with Hidden Fold-Out Key. Dated ca. 1880, presumably Austrian origin. The rectangular ‘gem’ has an engraved scroll decoration and is framed either side by spread acanthus leaves.

This is most certainly the softest creature I’ve ever handled. 🥹 I almost missed him when checking my black light. He began life as a Tragic Carpet, and those formidable defenses served him well, but now he’s just pure floof. 🤎

Making wild dolmas this evening with my sweetie with Basswood (Tilia americana) leaves I harvested today. The leaves are the perfect substitute for grape leaves and make a delicious dolma. The filling here is onion, garlic, jasmine rice, yellow split peas, tarragon, dill, parsley, basil, cilantro, mint, dandelion greens, golden raisins, lemon, black locust flower, salt and pepper. Covered in olive oil and ready to eat tomorrow!
