I am in charge of my destiny, and tomorrow, I am going wake up feeling refreshed and incredibly normal and then I will paint a little clown.

I don’t know how to draw people faces so it’s a clown deer. Sorry.

This is “Colin’s Barn,” a hobbit-like superstructure built in the 1980s by a farmer– to house his sheep.

image
image

Do you believe this structure? Now, it’s abandoned and in the middle of nowhere (aka Chedglow, England).

image

Colin Stokes is the sheep farmer who built this place and once owned this land, but gave it all up when a quarry opened nearby, threatening to make too much noise.

image

He built this labyrinthine two story house using mostly stone he found just lying around– and it took 11 years.

image

During lambing season, Colin often slept in a room on the second floor, watching over his flock.

image
image

He didn’t have any plans, it just grew.

image
image

He made the windows himself, depicting the 4 seasons.

image

This is really beautiful, and now it’s become a sanctuary for birds.

image

Stokes moved to Scotland and since giving it all up, has only been back to visit and doesn’t like people calling it a “hobbit house.”

image
image

You would think that it would have deteriorated, but it’s still in pretty good condition. What a shame that he left b/c of a quarry setting up shop.

image

I think that this could make a unique house.
