I really really hated my last job not gonna go into the long details but like it was a real shit show. My boss was kinda understanding about most things as long as you like mad up hours you missed cuz we were super understaffed. It was kinda cold and I just really didn’t wanna go to work so I lied and said I got an abortion so I could take 4 days off work and get paid for them. But my boss has a big mouth and told everyone about my fake abortion so I had to act outraged and cry and went as far as acting sick and really tired . Like I fully committed to the bit and like 2 days later she took me aside in the office and like cried holding my hands saying she was so sorry it got out and begging my not to sue her she ended up giving me a “gift basket” with chocolates a pandora necklace a gift card with a check in it and a packet from the owners lawyers basically asking me not to sue them. She also gave me a full paid week off after I signed and even got me an Uber home since I was “still sick”. the check was for 12k. I’m taking this to the grave.

The newfound species seen here is one of about 1,300 known types of tardigrades. It was discovered in moss growing on dead tree trunks in Germany’s Black Forest. Far too small to see with the unaided eye, this creature is among billions of life-forms on the forest floor that are essential to the health of the planet. Magnified 2,400 times.

Fungi like this Resinicium bicolor—shown magnified 7,000 times—start breaking down dead trees by digesting lignin, the complex compound that helps form woody cell walls in plants.

Scales of silica cover the single-celled body of a testate amoeba. These types of amoebas are named for the hard shells they create, possibly for protection against environmental changes within the forest litter.

Resembling a fairy’s gift basket, the fruiting body of a slime mold, magnified 400 times, releases spores from its perch on woody debris draped in fungal filaments. Slime molds feast on other microbes found in decaying plant

Some mycorrhizal fungi make their homes inside plant cells, as seen in this cross section of a European blueberry root. This allows soil residents of very different sizes to exchange nutrients—helping the forest

What are your thoughts on the Goncharov meme, if I might ask?

comicaurora:

tumblr has gotten so good at constructing fandoms completely divorced from any source material that they’ve finally cut out the middleman and just started making shit up

“you have mental illness” actually i don’t, those are just unfortunate side effects from using the powers from my amulet to often. such power deranges a man.
