I thought i was princess briding this sci-fi novel by pretending it was a translation of a future novel into Late Pre-Internet Earth English by a future scholar but now i think goncharoving is a much better verb. It’s so much easier to write something if you pretend it already exists and someone else wrote it

I first wrote it in pencil in wide ruled composition books. Now I’m typing it up but in comic sans to take the pressure off. These are secret elite writing techniques neil gaiman will never tell u no matter how hard you suck him off

I lied and said I have a “felt fabric fetish” when someone asked me to tell them a secret I’ve never told anyone else. Idk what I meant by that, I was just saying words. I doubled down every time they questioned me about it

I’m building a dnd class rn called “Just Some Guy” and the whole thing is that they are just supremely bad at combat and ability checks the whole time. at level 20 u get an ability called “Fucking Finally” where u get the level 1 abilities of another class. ur hit dice are d4s and the only thing u have proficiency in is improvised weapons. this is the funniest thing I’ve done in a hot minute

The Green Green-blooded Tree Skink (Prasinohaema virens),  from New Guinea, has green blood!!! The substance that causes this, and also makes some of the tissues and organs turn green, is called biliverdin. This substance is also highly toxic, and those who devour this little fellow.

Find out more about these pretty little lizards in an article from io9 that I posted last year… here.

Short-beaked echidna

This cute Echidna was found roaming around sugarloaf reservoir in Victoria, Australia. It is one of the four extant species of echidnas and belongs to the species Tachyglossus aculeatus (Monotrematae - Tachyglossidae), better known as Short-beaked echidna

Tachyglossus aculeatus is the only species of the genus, and can be found throughout southern and eastern New Guinea, mainland Australia, Kangaroo Island, and Tasmania.

Did you know that the longest recorded lifespan for Tachyglossus aculeatus is 50 years in captivity?. There are anecdotal accounts of wild individuals living as long as 45 years. There is no doubt this species is particularly long-lived, especially for its size. A lifespan of 50 years is 3.7 times longer than would be expected based on echidna body size.
