make queer & trans spaces more available for minors 2k15
like seriously let’s stop alienating those who aren’t 18 yet by making everything queer/trans incredibly sexual or denying them access to the only spots where they would be among their own kin (by only making them clubs etc.) and generally building a better safe space for those who are not cis or not het and so desperately need to be surrounded by people with similar experiences and feelings

Fantasy, Dystopia and Shoes by Anastasia Radevich
A pair of shoes from Anastasia Radevich’s ‘Dreamfall’ collection in her studio. Courtesy of Anastasia Radevich.
If there is any question whether fashion is an art form or not, the creations of Montreal-based shoe designer Anastasia Radevich seem to answer that question quite effortlessly through unconventional pieces of footwear that combine symbolism with the uncompromising power of natural shapes and textures. In her ‘Kinetik’ collection for example, she used fibre optics to light up the shoes, while in her most recent ‘Alchemy’ collection, the shoes merge into the realistic forms of fossils and horns. According to her collaborator, photographer Nik [Nitro] Yur, ‘‘shoes are Anastasia’s canvas, where she combines art, craft and technology to relay a message, a story or a statement.’’
Ill take them all

eggpunk drew a wonderful unicorn today and it made me think of this passage from The Last Unicorn. This paragraph haunts me from time to time because it’s such a beautiful description of a character, one that I feel is often fully ignored by illustrators of the story. As much as I have nostalgic love for the animated adaptation, the Unicorn in that version is basically a horse with a horn—in direct defiance of the original text. I’ve never been satisfied with an illustration of the Unicorn who becomes Lady Amalthea. A big part of that might be that the description, like the character herself, is mercurial and otherworldly. Here are some quick explorations I did. There will probably be more in the future.
My family is in town this weekend, and we are all going to see the theatrical tour of The Last Unicorn, where Peter S. Beagle will be present! I met him briefly at Comic Con this past year but I didn’t have the book with me. This time I will be able to get his signature on my well-worn copy.
I also want to give him a drawing but I don’t know what it will look like or what it will be… or how I can presume to do that when there is already an entire animated film.

I’m bringing this back
My 7nth grade health teacher gave this to us I swear to god. He also windexed his head during class so
this takes ten minutes to do: cut tomatoes and put them in a pot with some water and a bouillon fish cube (or veggie cube), put the heat on so it starts to boil. Then crack a couple of eggs into a small bowl and stir them until they are clear. Now; drip small amounts of the egg blend into the boiling water - they will stiffen into egg lumps (lumps that the chinese call egg flowers). The last thing you do is adding rice noodles into the soup with some chili pepper and wait until they are soft. You can also put some vinegar on it before you eat it, but not too much. :)
EDIT: my friend Xin told me I should have fried the tomatoes in some oil first to make the colour of the soup more red, which is more typical for chinese ramen. Next time :)
