“His gimmick is space…!”
(Most of you seemed to ask for the Gems and I couldn’t agree more, so… so yeah. Past Gems. Screencap redraw - more of a reinterpretation I guess? It’s a loose redraw, haha.)
I know your hearts are in the right place but saying that Leelah Alcorn “did it” in regards to getting conversion therapy most likely made illegal and having the law named after her….. is really making me uncomfortable honestly
Leelah didn’t “do” anything but be horribly abused by her parents who were able to use conversion therapy as an aid to abuse her, which resulted in her suicide. It’s called Leelah’s Law because a teenage girl had to die for people to realize how fucked up conversion therapy is. She didn’t “do” something her death wasn’t some heroic sacrifice or something it was the result of a transphobic society that told her transphobic parents that their transphobia was okay.
She killed herself the idea that she “did” this is implying that she had to die for conversion therapy to even be considered a bad thing and it’s glorifying suicide which you all should know by now is a huge way to make others suicidal as it encourages suicidal thoughts like. Please stop this. She didn’t die for a cause she killed herself due to transphobia. She was a young girl and she had her entire life ahead of her and she truly did not feel like she could go on any longer because of the invalidation and abuse she suffered.
Leelah’s Law being considered does not justify Leelah’s death or in any way mean that her death was necessary for the greater good. Leelah deserved better, as does every other trans child who’s suffered and/or lost their lives under abusive parents.
I lost some requests, but i remember 80′s crystal gems as a popular one.
”Over the years, Endal has learned to pull the plug out of the bath before going for help if Allen falls unconscious whilst bathing, and is able to put Allen in the recovery position, hit the emergency button on the telephone and summon help … Endal has learned how to use ATMs as well as Chip and pin machines, as well as helping out with shopping, opening train doors, operating lifts, unloading the washing machine and more typical doggie skills like getting the paper.”
Parton states that Endal’s ability to comprehend his wishes and needs showed when they first met, and was responsible for helping him recover from the initial deep depression and trauma caused by his disability.
Endal came again to national attention in a 2001 incident, when Allen was knocked out of his wheelchair by a passing car. Endal pulled Allen, who was unconscious, into the recovery position, retrieved his mobile phone from beneath the car, fetched a blanket and covered him, barked at nearby dwellings for assistance, and then ran to a nearby hotel to obtain help.
Among other distinctions, Endal had been described as “the most decorated dog in the world” (including “Dog of the Millennium” and the PDSA’s Gold Medal for Animal Gallantry and Devotion to Duty, the highest award available to an animal.
