May your weekend be as delightful as a pearlescent box tree moth moth preening its antennas.

More moths here
May we find things as soft and lovely as this brindled beauty to hold on to today ๐ฆ
This is the common tubic, colloquially known as Geoff (because its latin name is Alabonia geoffrella.)
Despite humans calling it โcommonโ and giving it the same name as one of my annoyingly misogynist former supervisors, this glorious moth continues to sparkle. Its teeny tiny orange and blue wings are a lesson in colour theory! & Look at those incredibly fluffy palps!! The wing-fringe!!! This particular species of Geoff is a gahdammed joy.
May we be as delightful as this micromoth, no matter how common people say we are.

May we be as bold as a black arches moth mountaineering up a human.
(I try to release moths far enough away from the light trap that the waiting birds donโt get themโฆ Maybe this moth just thought my hair was a good place to hide til sunset ๐คท)
Not feeling great today & hoping I donโt have the serious germs, but hereโs an elephant hawkmoth to improve things. Because hawkmoths always improve my day. ๐๐ฆ
