Red-winged blackbirds(Agelaius phoeniceus) are handsome birds, but their young are… well, pretty awkward. Like many birds, young red-winged blackbirds go through a “fledgling” stage where they’ve left the nest and can fly just a little, but they still depend on their patents for food. Look at this bird, and now picture a college kid in a dorm. Yep.
G1 Flower Fantasy Pony Flowerbelle:
Oh yeah, I managed to get my hands on this girl rather cheap. She’s has serious tail rust, but that’s not a concern to me. Her hair lost its pink, but I think white is nice with her color scheme.
Ardmore Ceramics. Somandla Ntshalintshali hand coiled this rhythmical masterwork for ‘The Great Zambezi’ collection. Zinhle Nene - known at Ardmore as the “Queen of the Crocodile” because she has mastered the painting of every scale of these reptiles - has embellished the vase with her fine brush and sgraffito needle, creating crocodile-textured patterns across the surface.
There are some weird advertising characters out there. This is one of them: Darigold milk during the mid-1980s was putting Milkwalker, a pint of milk with arms and legs(and rather scary ones at that)
and huge soul-gobbling eyes, on its boxes with tips on how to live your life safely. Those knees, man.
I’ve found no origin story, no other record of his being a thing that answers any questions about what Darigold was thinking and how long he was (to them and the schoolchildren who saw him daily) a thing.
