“[The creature is called] Moder in the novel. … It’s female. … I wanted to preserve my own experience of reading the book, wherein the creature’s design is somewhat shifting. Or at least you have competing ideas about what it might be. We dug into Norse mythology and discovered a Jötnar clan of giants that were known as shape-shifters and would sometimes present with combined human and animal qualities. It felt close enough to what Adam had imagined but gave us a little room to experiment. … I reached out to Keith Thompson, who I was a huge fan of, and was very fortunate to have him come on board. He experimented with those ideas and provided many different possibilities, as well as concepts for the decrepit parishioners, the effigy in the attic, and the hanging elk. It all tied together and told a visual story. The beast design we finally settled on was simply the one I couldn’t take my eyes off of. I think anyone who’s familiar with his work can tell through and through that this is one of his uncanny creations.” - David Bruckner

Holy shit I love this

Okay it’s from a movie on Netflix called The Ritual, which actually sounds kind of awesome: http://www.newsweek.com/ritual-best-horror-movies-netflix-2018-801140

Whoa

are those little glowy jawa eyes where its mouth should be

I watched this movie last night the monster is sooo good but the dialogue was poor and the pacing goes absolutely to hell in the last 20 minutes 😭 one of the worst kinds of horror movies because it had huge potential but ended up just sort of frustrating and irritating by the end

men in greek mythology? scoundrels. just terrible. woeful social skills. murderers. kidnappers. violent misogynists. most of them… never described as handsome so we have to assume they were ugly.

narcissus? unproblematic. beacon of transformative self love. king of the swerve. gay icon. couldn’t recognize his reflection but neither can my dog, we aren’t holding that against him.

I refuse to believe Narcissus could read.

i’ve been thinking about this response for the better part of 2 hours and it hasn’t gotten less hysterically funny to me

I love it when I click on a recipe link because it sounds yummy and instead of a recipe I get a several page dissertation on a food blogger’s boredom with her marriage and lies she was told in childhood

this ending in a recipe literally changed my fucking life i thought i was being spread some fucking truisms abt the ugliness of marriage but it was literally a preamble to creme brulee brownies. writing is fake

Ginger Ale is the Maroon 5 of the drink world. It can do anything, and everyone likes it, but it’s no ones favorite.

I was with you at the beginning there, but by the time I read the end i realized I could rip you apart with my bear hands
