found a Porcellio laevis mother who had just given birth! isopods do not lay eggs externally but develop their young from eggs to babies in a marsupium under their bellies. in a very mammalian fashion, mama isopods will find a secluded spot away from other isopods to give birth.
mother Porcellio spp. donβt exhibit as much maternal care as other isopod species, but they will stand guard over their newborns until they molt to a more mobile form after a couple hours, after which theyβll be able to fend for themselves.
Omg i just remembered my gf and i made up a creature last night while we were falling asleep… its a little guy kinda halfway between a dobby and a smeagol. He’s harmless but super pathetic he just like shows up at your house all the time and wants to hang out but he’s kind of unpleasant to be around but you don’t want to be mean so you usually give him juice and a coloring book and he colors for a few hours on your floor like somewhere really inconvenient and he usually spills his juice at some point and doesn’t do a good job cleaning it up so there’s a sticky spot on your floor after he leaves. And he’s absolutely abysmal at coloring like can’t stay inside the lines at all but you’re very complimentary anyways.
