the long-tailed tit is a small passerine bird found in europe and asia. fondly nicknamed the ‘flying lollipop’ due to their round body and pointed tail, these birds are almost entirely insectivorous, and feed on grubs, worms, beetles, and more. around half of long-tailed tit pairs have a ‘helper’ or multiple when raising their young; it increases the chicks’ chances of survivability along with giving the helpers parenting experience.
both male and female eastern bluebirds are devoted parents that take turns caring for their young. eastern bluebirds typically raise at least two broods per breeding season, and on occasion older siblings assist in the feeding and raising of younger nestlings.
